The Good Life

Oh, how I love Summer. Lately the Good Life for me has included...

Late Night Sushi with the Husband (when I say "late night" I mean after 9 pm. That is late for us. We also saw a movie after 6 pm the other night... which just might be a first since we have been married...)

Festive Cookie decorating (and dough eating, frosting knife licking...)

And a good book by the Pool (Bossypants by Tina Fey, but I gotta say, probably not the best pool book if you are at a crowded pool... my constant giggling to myself may have come across as a little crazy)

It is good to be me.

A Little Trip to Zion

Last weekend we took a little trip to Zion with my family. I had never been to Zion and my mom got a great deal on some AWESOME cabin homes in East Zion, so we braved the heat and headed down to Southern Utah.

We got up early and did a couple of the more strenuous hikes like Hidden Canyon and Angels Landing. We went out in the evening and did Canyon Overlook and the Riverside Walk. Every hike we did was beautiful and I am always amazed by the great scenery that we live so close to. It was a quick, but much enjoyed getaway!

Hiking Shoes!!

Planking... the extreme sport (?) of the trip...

Canyon Overlook... and Craig's awesome Ghostbusters shirt! Craig is lucky enough to have two personal shoppers (my cousins) that LOVE to pick out the best shirts for him.

The view from the not top of Angels Landing (also known as the highest I dared hike... the chain part of that hike is not for me.)

Walter's Wiggles!!

OH... and a Mickey Mouse Cactus!!

Tuesday is a Good Day

Tuesday is a Good Day because....

I picked up my newly polished ring and had a much needed lunch with a great friend...
(not to mention the great pink nail polish)

I got to run around town in my favorite sparkly pink toms...

I discovered 100 episodes of The Cosby Show available for instant streaming on Netflix...

Tuesday is a Good Day.

Some Weekend Motivation

Just in case you are learning to ride a bike or tackle some other equally hard task this weekend...

Class of 2001

That's right. It really has been 10 years since I graduated from high school. Working at a high school, especially working at the high school I once attended myself, this time of year always causes me think back to my own graduation, which of course always makes me wonder what I would have thought if you told this SHS 2001 grad:
Don't worry, I searched high and low for a picture of me with my siblings, because I thought Craig's was so fun, but apparently I attended graduation by myself, because I could only find this picture and then a few pictures with friends...no family photos...ha.

That in five years she would marry this fellow SHS 2001 grad:
Too cute.

And that a year after that she would then end up working at the very same school she was SO excited to be leaving... I am pretty sure I would not have believed one word of that.

But, I gotta say, I don't think I could be happier with how things have worked out. From this side of things, I can't picture it any other way. :)

And P.S. Sorry about the poor photo quality... our scanner was being lame, so I did what any lazy person would do and took pictures of the pictures with my phone, because I am ghetto like that...
